Karman
Terms of Use
Rules for using Karman, shared databases, and Karman Family.
1. Acceptance
These Terms govern the Karman app and karmanbudget.app. The service is owned and developed by Anatoli Baranov. By installing, opening, or using Karman, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, do not use Karman. Apple’s terms also apply to your use of the App Store, iCloud, CloudKit, and StoreKit.
2. Purpose of Karman
Karman is a software tool for self-managed personal and shared finance records, including accounts, transactions, categories, tags, reports, backups, and shared databases.
Karman is not a bank, payment service, accountant, or financial, investment, tax, or legal adviser. Information and calculations in the app are not professional advice. You are responsible for verifying information and making your own financial decisions.
3. Your data and responsibilities
- You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of data you enter.
- You must protect your device, Apple Account, iCloud, and backup files.
- You are responsible for creating any backups needed for your purposes and testing whether they can be restored.
- You must not use Karman to violate law or others’ rights, interfere with the service, or distribute harmful content.
4. Importing data from Money Pro
Create a backup of your data before importing. Because the formats differ, some transactions, categories, or accounts may be converted or skipped. After the import is complete, review balances, currencies, and transactions.
The import feature processes the local Money Pro backup file you select and does not access iBear LLC services. Money Pro is a trademark of iBear LLC. Karman is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by iBear LLC.
5. iCloud and shared databases
Synchronization and sharing depend on iCloud, CloudKit, network access, your Apple Account, and Apple service availability. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted delivery of changes or the absence of delays and conflicts.
The database owner selects invitees, visible accounts, and roles. By inviting someone, the owner confirms that they may disclose the relevant data. Guests must use access only with the owner’s permission. The owner may change permissions or revoke an invitation.
6. Free guest access
Without Karman Family, an owner may give one invited account view-only access. The guest sees only accounts made available to them and cannot edit their data. Sharing availability also depends on the technical capabilities of supported Apple OS versions.
7. Karman Family subscription
Karman Family is a monthly auto-renewable subscription purchased by the owner of a shared database. It lets the owner selectively assign Contributor or Administrator roles. A subscription does not grant a guest rights automatically; the owner assigns and revokes each role separately.
A Contributor can edit data available to them. An Administrator receives broader shared-database management capabilities within Karman, except actions reserved for the owner. The exact capabilities may be refined as the app evolves.
8. Payment, trial, and renewal
- The current price, currency, and period are displayed by the App Store before purchase confirmation.
- The first month is free only when Apple confirms that the Apple Account is eligible. If the trial is unavailable, the displayed standard price applies.
- Payment is charged to the Apple Account upon purchase confirmation. The subscription renews automatically for successive monthly periods until canceled.
- You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Karman provides Restore Purchases. Refund requests are submitted to and decided by Apple under App Store rules.
- When the subscription ends, newly assigned paid editing rights are suspended after the paid period unless a separate access basis applies.
9. Availability, changes, and termination
To the extent permitted by law, Karman is provided “as is” and “as available.” We may fix errors, change the interface and feature set, stop supporting older versions, or temporarily restrict service for maintenance or security. Material changes do not override mandatory consumer rights.
You may stop using Karman at any time by deleting the app and your data and separately canceling any subscription. We may restrict access in response to abuse, unlawful conduct, or a breach of these Terms where permitted by law.
10. Warranties, liability, and disputes
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Karman’s owner is not liable for indirect loss, lost profit, financial decisions, loss of data, or failures of third-party services. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be limited.
Mandatory rules of your country and other applicable laws continue to apply. Before commencing proceedings, the parties will try to resolve disputes through hello@karmanbudget.app. Any mandatory consumer forum and remedies remain available.
11. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms when the product, subscription, or law changes. A new version applies from its published effective date, and material changes may receive additional notice. By continuing to use Karman after changes take effect, you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
